Vitamin E (Vitamin E-200) is the common name for a group of eight complex chemical compounds with antioxidant properties, called tocotrienols and tocopherols (alpha, beta, gamma and delta). Initially, Vitamin E-200 was considered a fat extracted from plants.
Vitamin E is an essential vitamin, meaning that the body cannot produce it and therefore requires daily intake through food or supplements. Vitamin E is fat-soluble and is contained in cell membranes. Alpha-tocopherol acts as an antioxidant, preventing the formation of free radicals and reducing the oxidation of lipids in cells. Vitamin E-200 improves the functions of the immune and cardiovascular systems. Vitamin E is essential for tissues that need more oxygen, such as the heart, brain, and reproductive organs.
A number of disease conditions are associated with Vitamin E-200 deficiency, such as sterility, menstrual problems, shortened red blood cell lifespan, neuromuscular damage, etc.
