Propolis is a resin collected by bees from trees, which is part of the immune system that trees use to protect themselves against disease. Honey bees collect the resin and mix it with their own secretions and beeswax to form propolis. Bees use it to protect against pollution and germs in the hive. Bee propolis is a great immune booster. It increases the number of immune cells, increases the production of antibodies, activates macrophages (increases the number and destruction of bacteria), and doubles the activity of natural killer cells.
