The Lucerna liquid nutritional supplement from the EkoMedica brand is a powerful health-supporting formula based on an extract from the herbaceous plant alfalfa ( Medicago sativa ), which is widespread throughout the world. It is distinguished by an extremely developed root system, extending up to twenty meters deep into the soil, thanks to which it can extract minerals missing from the surface layer.

Alfalfa has been used as a food and medicine for 6,000 years. Ancient Arabs and Persians called it the "father of all foods," and various traditional Far Eastern medical practices used it as a remedy for stomach ulcers, water retention, arthritic conditions, and loss of appetite.

Alfalfa is rich in phytochemicals called phytoestrogens, which resemble the female sex hormone estrogen in structure and action. Thanks to this, the plant extract helps to alleviate a number of unpleasant symptoms of menopause and premenstrual syndrome, such as hot flashes, cramps, sleep problems, and others.
