Vitabay® Cranberry Extract Capsules contain a natural, high-dose bio-raw material from North America. Each capsule contains 10% of the secondary plant substances from blueberries, PAC (proanthocyanidin type A), as this type has a higher potential. Thanks to the special production process, the whole fruit is processed, resulting in a high concentration of the valuable ingredients of cranberries.

Urinary tract infections are common and are a serious health problem that can impair kidney and urinary tract function if not treated in a timely manner.

Description:

Vaccinium macrocarpone, also called large cranberry, is a North American species of cranberry and is a perennial shrub with pink or white flowers and red or pink berries with a predominantly sour taste.

The species is grown commercially for its edible berries. All of this takes place in artificial lakes called bilberry bogs. In addition to being used as food, bilberries are also used in products to treat or prevent urinary tract infections.

What is contained in the American blueberry?

The fruit of the red American cranberry is rich in polyphenols and especially proanthocyanidins (PACs), which have antimicrobial and antioxidant properties. Although many varieties of cranberries are grown for use in foods, beverages and dietary supplements, data on the content of PACs among some varieties are limited. Analyzing data on the content and composition of PACs, we conclude that the isolated PACs among some varieties are type A catechin oligomers, which are richer in valuable substances and have greater potential for medicinal properties. These varieties are excellent sources of type A PACs and are mainly blueberry varieties from different growing regions, mainly in North America.

It also contains a large amount of vitamin C, flavonoids, organic acids and fructose.

Are blueberries good for urinary tract health?

Cranberry is currently used as a dietary supplement for the treatment of urinary tract infections. The use of various cranberry supplements reduces the frequency of urinary tract infections, as well as recurrent ones.

Cranberry is widely used to prevent urinary tract infections. Studies have shown that the proanthocyanidins and phenolic compounds it contains prevent certain bacteria, such as Escherichia coli, from adhering to the epithelial cells of the urinary tract.
