Mattisson's Liposomal Iron has high bioavailability due to the encapsulation of the active ingredient in a form that protects it from gastric juices and liver enzymes. Iron is a mineral with many functions in the body. In the largest percentage, it is contained in hemoglobin and myoglobin. Very small amounts of it are found in some enzymes. Unbound iron in the body is stored in the form of ferritin and hemosiderin. Its deficiency leads to anemia and a decrease in the ability of the blood to carry oxygen to the tissues.
