Evening primrose oil has incredible health benefits. It is particularly beneficial for proper hormone synthesis, heart function, bones, skin and hair maintenance, etc. It reduces the pain associated with PMS and relieves dry, irritated skin. It can also be used as an anti-inflammatory in the treatment of various autoimmune diseases.

Evening primrose oil is high in essential fatty acids, which provide the building blocks for cell membranes, the synthesis of hormones and hormone-like substances. Essential fatty acids are not synthesized by the body and must be obtained through food and/or supplements. They include omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which play a crucial role in brain function, normal growth and development.

These beneficial fats promote a feeling of satiety, support the action of vitamins A, D, E and K, promote the conversion of carotene into vitamin A, for optimal absorption of minerals, etc.

Omega-6 fatty acids found in evening primrose oil are necessary for the synthesis of prostaglandin E. Prostaglandins are hormone-like substances responsible for proper hormone production, cell health, and more.

A deficiency of prostaglandins leads to increased blood clot formation, inflammation, high blood pressure, infertility, cell proliferation, cancer, and weight gain.
