Maiden's tansy (Tanacetum parthenium) is mainly used to relieve migraine headaches. The herb has anti-inflammatory and relaxing properties, helps maintain normal blood pressure and contributes to physical well-being. The plant is obtained from organic farming. The beneficial properties of this herb are used in the food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. It can be found in fields, forests and also on the outskirts of cities. The smell of tansy slightly resembles musk.

What does maidenhair fern look like and what does it contain?

Tansy is a shrubby plant of the Asteraceae family. It has green leaves and inflorescences with a yellow hue. Its usual height is 30-70 cm. The stem is erect, branched at the top. It blooms in July-August. It is distributed in Europe, Asia and North America. It contains essential oils (camphor, camphene, p-cymene and bornyl acetate) flavonoids, alkaloids, substances with tannic properties, as well as numerous vitamins and minerals. In the Middle Ages, tansy bushes were grown inside and around homes to purify the air, because it was believed that they protected against the plague.

Beneficial effects of taking tansy (Tanacetum parthenium):

• The essential oil of the plant has an antispasmodic effect. It relaxes the smooth abdominal muscles, relieves nausea and stomach cramps;
