The hyaline acid is a glycosaminoglycan (GAG), which is a naturally occurring polysaccharide in the human body. It is found in various tissues and fluids, but is best known for its presence in the skin, joints, and eyes.

It was first isolated in the 1930s from a calf's eye, and its name comes from the Greek word "hyalos", meaning "glassy". Its main function is to retain water inside tissue cells, keeping the skin hydrated, fresh and plump, the eyes moist, and the joints better lubricated.

The benefits of hyaluronic acid for the skin are related to its molecular weight and concentration. Molecular weight refers to its mass, or how large the molecule is. It is measured in unified atomic mass units - daltons, or kDa for short.

Sports & Health hyaluronic acid capsules are focused on a specific molecular size. Their molecular size is from 500-700 kDa.
