Description

Immunity is a formula that is carefully formulated with essential vitamins, minerals and plant extracts to support immunity, as well as reduce tiredness and fatigue, normal functioning of the nervous system and protect cells from oxidative stress.

Immunity manifests its effects through expert key combinations
immune-modulating ingredients such as immune-modulating vitamin D , vitamin C , zinc , copper and selenium , plus superfoods such as the purest and most natural form of garlic , ginger and turmeric extract, as well as additional ingredients including grape seed and green tea extract , which work synergistically with the above to lead to the maximum possible immunity against multiple infections.

The immune system is complex and extensive, meaning it needs to be supported from multiple angles, hence the addition of additional ingredients with an extensive evidence base and validation.

Vitamin D:

We already know that vitamin D is one of the most important, if not the most important, vitamins for the immune system. Now, while you can't single out one nutrient or nutrient component when it comes to the immune system, given that they all exert their effects in different ways, if there's one nutrient that you should really try to include...it's vitamin D.

Also known, in a dietary sense, as cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) and ergocalciferol (vitamin D2), vitamin D has had a growing body of evidence over time linking it to its immune function. Perhaps most notable is the vitamin D receptor expressed on immune cells, literally the front line of our immune system (well, except for the skin, of course). All of these immune cells (B cells, T cells, and antigen-presenting cells) are capable of synthesizing the active metabolite of vitamin D, an attribute that allows vitamin D to modulate innate and adaptive immune responses.

Vitamin C:

Like vitamin D, vitamin C also warrants inclusion in the European Commission’s (2012) permitted claim repository, stating that “Vitamin C contributes to the maintenance of the normal function of the immune system during and after intense physical exercise.” The Commission states that “This claim may be used only for food which provides a daily intake of 200 mg of vitamin C. In order to bear the claim, information shall be given to the consumer that the beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 200 mg. in addition to the recommended daily intake of vitamin C.”
To summarize, vitamin C is important for the overall immune system, provided that the recommended daily intake or Reference Nutrient Intake (RNI) is met, i.e. 40 mg per day for an adult. Therefore, in order for the immune system to benefit from the immunoprotective properties of vitamin C after bouts of stress, such as exercise, you will need to take an additional 200 mg of vitamin C on top of the 40 mg RNI. Immunity provides you with 750 mg of vitamin C in the form of 100% ascorbic acid, which means that you are truly benefiting from the immunoprotective properties of vitamin C.

Zinc:

The European Commission (2012) clearly states that “zinc contributes to the normal function of the immune system”, a statement that is supported by numerous research articles that confirm the ability of zinc to influence multiple aspects of the immune system. Specifically, zinc appears to mediate the normal development and function of cells involved in innate immunity, cells such as neutrophils and natural killer cells. If the body is deficient in zinc for any period of time, the development of macrophages is inhibited, as well as negatively affecting phagocytosis, intracellular killing and cytokine production, processes that are crucial for preventing infection. Zinc deficiency also contributes to the abnormal growth and function of T and B cells, key components in
immunomodulation.

Honey:

Immunity contains only evidence-based ingredients, and the validity of Copper is no exception. The European Commission (2012) reiterates that “copper contributes to the normal function of the immune system”, acknowledging that it positions copper as an essential component in any immunity supplement. Although the exact mechanism of action of copper in supporting the immune system is still unknown, it is clinically accepted that neutropenia (abnormally low white blood cell count) is a sign of copper deficiency.
Experts have concluded that copper clearly plays a role in the differentiation, maturation, and proliferation of leukocytes (white blood cells).

Selenium:

Most people know selenium for its role as a powerful dietary antioxidant, particularly its participation in the aptly named selenoproteins. These so-called selenoproteins are involved in the regulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) or free radicals in nearly all tissues in the body. For this reason alone, selenium is well-regarded as a key nutritional component in inflammation and immune response. Selenium is thought to enhance immunity, especially in the aging immune system, where immune responses to certain pathogens become less effective. Selenium is part of certain antioxidant enzymes such as glutathione, which itself offers protective effects to the body by fueling white blood cells, including natural killer and T cells.

Garlic extract:

Garlic (Allium sativum) is a bulbous vegetable that we all know and love for its ability to add depth to any dish, but despite its ability to satisfy the taste buds, it also provides exemplary nutritional value. Garlic packs an unrivaled nutritional punch, few foods can hold a candle to the healing properties that garlic carries thanks to its secret ingredient, a molecule called Alliin. Alliin is the first part of this incredible vegetable story for health and well-being, especially for immune function. When the cells of garlic are broken down by chewing, cutting, crushing or grating, a metabolite of alliin known as allicin is released. Allicin is where it really starts to get interesting, this metabolite converts into a variety of water- and fat-soluble sulfur-containing compounds that produce hydrogen sulfide... the main reason for the distinctive breath associated with garlic consumption, and also why this revolutionary supplement comes in capsule form (we’ve literally thought of everything). The production of hydrogen sulfide leads to an interaction with the hydrogen sulfide signaling system, a system capable of relaxing blood vessels, reducing total cholesterol and low-density lipoproteins, while increasing the “good” high-density lipoprotein. It is this hydrogen sulfide signaling system that also exhibits the apparent anti-cancer effects of garlic. All of the beneficial components of garlic can be found in fresh garlic, therefore Immunity uses only the finest garlic extract to ensure that all of the beneficial compounds remain intact.

Turmeric:

Turmeric is a plant in the ginger family, its rhizome or “underground stem” (not to be confused with the root) is what is commonly used as a spice in cooking. Dried and ground, turmeric is one of the main spices in curry powder and when consumed through diet or supplemental form, it can offer a number of health benefits for arthritis, digestive disorders, respiratory infections, allergies, liver disease, depression. However, it is not turmeric alone that is directly responsible for these benefits, but more so its bioactive compound curcumin. It is the polyphenol curcumin and its related curcuminoids that give turmeric its distinctive yellow color, as well as its health and immune-boosting properties.
Curcumin is important for immune function through its ability to increase endogenous antioxidant levels in the body, and turmeric extract provides ample amounts of this important bioactive compound. Immunity intentionally uses turmeric instead of curcumin because you get the best of both worlds, as turmeric contains a host of other curcuminoids that provide benefits that curcumin alone does not.
