Goldenseal (Hydrastis Canadensis) is native to North America, where it is also known as Indian turmeric or wild turmeric. The Cherokee Indians used the root to treat flu, ulcers, gonorrhea, skin infections, and colds.

Over time, after medicine recognized its exceptional properties, it began to be used as a natural antibiotic for respiratory infections, acute enteritis with diarrhea (caused by various pathogens), urogenital infections, etc.

Medical studies have shown that this plant has a wide spectrum of action. It inhibits the reproduction of bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogene, Helicobacter pylori, Chlamydia trachomatis, Bacillus subtilis, Proteus, Clostridium perfringens, Shigella dysenteriae, Salmonella parathyphi, Klebsiella, Escherichia coli.
