NOW® Modified Citrus Pectin (MCP) is a patented low molecular weight citrus pectin that can cross the intestinal barrier to act systemically. MCP can bind to and facilitate the excretion of low levels of heavy metals from mild but common environmental exposures. Studies have shown that MCP promotes healthy urinary excretion of heavy metals from typical daily exposures without altering the retention of other dietary minerals, including calcium, magnesium, iron, copper, and selenium. MCP has also been shown to support healthy cellular growth and reproduction.
