Description

Scutellaria belongs to the family Lamiaceae (LamiaceaeIt grows in the southern part of Eastern Siberia near Lake Baikal, in China, Mongolia, Japan, and Korea.

It is a perennial shrub with branched stems. Its leaves are long and narrow. The flowers are purple and arranged in spike-shaped inflorescences. The roots are thick and fleshy. They reach 50 cm in length. Most of the beneficial ingredients are collected in them. Therefore, they are usually used for medicinal purposes.

Composition and beneficial properties

Baikal skullcap has valuable medicinal properties due to its rich chemical composition. Its important ingredient is the substance baicalin - a unique plant compound that is not found in any other plant. It is distinguished by strong antioxidant, antimicrobial and antiviral properties, with a pronounced sedative effect.

The composition of the medicinal plant Scutellaria baicalensis also includes: coumarins, baicalein, luteolin, steroids, aptigenin, tannins, saponins, pyrocatechins, resinous substances, essential oils. The herb contains many micro- and macroelements: iron, selenium, iodine, molybdenum, manganese, cobalt, copper, zinc, potassium, calcium and magnesium.

In addition to the extract of the Scutellaria herb, the product includes several other important components:
