Colostrum is a special and natural dairy product – the first milk after birth in mammals. Mattisson’s colostrum powder is obtained from cows in the first 12 hours after calving. The cow produces a universal colostrum that is well tolerated by almost all mammals, including humans. The connection between colostrum consumption and rejuvenation and increased immune defense has been proven many years ago. However, the powder product is officially not suitable for babies and children. The recommended dose for adults is 1 teaspoon (about 3.5 grams) of colostrum powder with water, fruit juice or yogurt 1-3 times a day. The colostrum powder is freeze-dried. This minimizes the degree of spoilage of the product, the loss of nutritional value and biological activity of the components, ensuring its shelf life for a period of 12 months or more.
What does bovine colostrum contain?
Its molecular structure is almost identical to that of human colostrum. It contains almost no milk sugar (lactose) and fat, but contains essential vitamins, minerals, whey proteins, amino acids and casein, immunoglobulins, immunomodulators and oligosaccharides, including a large amount of:
- cells of adaptive immunity - lymphocytes, lymphokines and antibodies IgG, IgA, IgD, IgM and IgE;
- innate immunity cells — lysozyme, lactoferrin, lactoperoxidase, proline-rich PRP polypeptides, transferrin;
- controllers and correctors of the immune system - cytokines, interleukins, interferons, tumor necrosis factors, chemokines;
- more than 12 varieties of growth factors;
- proteolytic enzymes;
- glycoproteins that protect these immune factors from destruction in gastric juice.
