The dietary supplement from the German company Barbel Drexel is a natural plant source of omega-3 fatty acids from perilla seeds.

Perilla is a herbaceous perennial plant that belongs to the family Lamiaceae. It is native to Southeast Asia and India, and its use in China for medicinal purposes dates back thousands of years.

In Bulgaria, the herb is known as Chinese basil.

Omega-3 Perilla oil supports the health and functions of the cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems, and has an effect on the regeneration and detoxification of the liver.

The supplement is high in polyunsaturated fatty acids (mainly alpha-linolenic acid). Their origin is plant-based and they are extracted from perilla seeds.

Compared to other vegetable oils, perilla seed oil is distinguished by an extremely high concentration of beneficial omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids.

Alpha-linolenic acid makes up about 60% of perilla seed oil, making it one of the richest sources of omega-3s.
