Collagen is a fibrous protein that makes up the collagen fibers of skin, hair, tendons, muscles, bones, cartilage, joints, and all other connective tissues and vital organs. It is also found in body gels, hardening them, as in the vitreous humor of the eye. In other words, collagen is the natural protein that makes up most of the structural reinforcement of the body and is the main substance of connective tissue.
