BCAA811 is a unique high-speed BCAA malate with a ratio of 8:1:1. BCAA (l-leucine dl-malate, l-isoleucine dl-malate, valine dl-malate) is chemically linked to malic acid, which can increase the bioavailability of the amino acid. During exercise, the breakdown of BCAA malate occurs faster than other amino acids, which is why this is the best BCAA product to take before/during/after training.

Studies have shown that leucine is responsible for muscle protein synthesis (MPS) and is the most 'anabolic' of all amino acids. Iso-leucine is responsible for glucose uptake into cells. Although there has not been much in-depth research into the role of valine, current research suggests that it is used in the body in a similar way to leucine, albeit in a lower ratio. A more recent study found that BCAAs have a synergistic effect when combined with the amino acid taurine. Nontrained men took either a placebo or just taurine and BCAAs. They then performed a high-intensity workout. The group taking taurine and BCAAs experienced significantly less muscle damage and significantly less muscle soreness during the 4-day post-workout recovery period than the other groups. Together, taurine and BCAAs provide three benefits: First, they improve muscle water content, which leads to less damage. Second, providing a wider mix of amino acids can improve muscle sensitivity to calcium while inhibiting the production of creatine kinase, a waste product that promotes and accumulates the feeling of muscle fatigue. Third, taurine and BCAAs reduce oxidative stress. Simply put, this dynamic duo reduces the "waste" produced during intense training, with less muscle soreness and faster recovery.

B vitamins are critical for amino acid metabolism and can become depleted when taking high doses of BCAAs. B vitamins are needed for everything from managing anxiety and cognition, to managing energy metabolism and avoiding food cravings. Vitamin B6 is needed to produce an enzyme called branched-chain ketoacid dehydrogenase complex A (BCKAD), which is necessary for the efficient breakdown and absorption of BCAAs.
