Lutein is a powerful antioxidant carotenoid that occurs naturally with zeaxanthin, two closely related carotenoids. Lutein and zeaxanthin have clinically validated benefits for supporting visual function and protecting eye tissue health. They are concentrated in the lens and macula of the eye, as well as in brain, skin, breast, and cervical tissues. For both lutein and zeaxanthin, the protective effects against macular degeneration are commonly associated with aging and oxidative stress.
Jarrow Formulas® Lutein is extracted from marigold petals. Each softgel contains 20 mg of lutein (net) from lutein esters, which are natural, more stable, and significantly better absorbed.
Recommended intake: 1 softgel per day with food or as directed by your qualified healthcare professional.
Note: If you have a medical condition, are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to conceive, are under 18 years of age, or are taking medication, consult your doctor before using this product.
Other ingredients: Soybean oil, sunflower oil, beeswax and natural mixed tocopherols. The softgel capsule consists of gelatin, glycerin and purified water.
