TUDCA is a bile acid that the human body synthesizes naturally from cholesterol in small amounts. This substance, known and used for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine, supports the healthy secretion of bile from the liver to the intestines and has beneficial effects on a number of other organs and systems of the human body.


Description and main properties of tauroursodeoxycholic acid
Tauroursodeoxycholic acid, also known as TUDCA, is an amphiphilic acid (meaning it has both a hydrophobic and hydrophilic part) that is secreted by bile to help break down and absorb fat from the body. Until recently, it was popular mainly among hardcore bodybuilders who used it to protect the liver from overload caused by high-protein foods and supplements. However, it turns out that this substance has much more beneficial properties for human health.
