Properties of nettle (Urtica dioica)

Nettle is a genus of angiosperms in the family Urticaceae, which includes between 30 and 45 species, mainly perennial herbaceous plants. It is distributed in Europe, North Africa, Asia and North America. Nettle is a source of:

• Iron: It is recommended as an anti-anemic agent for people with an active lifestyle and prone to anemia (pregnant women, nursing mothers and the elderly).
• Other minerals (calcium, manganese, potassium, zinc, magnesium, copper): contribute to increasing bone density, blood clotting, the proper rhythm of the liver and kidneys, regulating prostate disorders, reducing the severity of eczema, etc.
