Milk thistle is recommended for people concerned about liver health. It protects against the harmful effects of various toxins (e.g. alcohol, air pollution, pesticides, heavy metals, drugs, and various prescription medications). Milk thistle is an important addition to detoxification regimens and an excellent tonic for individuals under stress. Its ability to increase bile flow makes it effective as a mild laxative and important in cholesterol management. Modern research on the herb’s effects has focused on biliary diseases and liver dysfunction.

German scientists have synthesized an extract called “Silymarin” that has a variety of liver-protective properties. When choosing products, it is important to keep in mind that the active ingredients typically only make up 1-4% of the entire plant, and that only 20-50% of silymarin is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract at any given time, so a highly concentrated extract is needed to provide benefits.

Recommended intake: 1 capsule daily or as directed by your qualified healthcare professional.

Note: If you have a medical condition, are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to conceive, under the age of 18, or are taking medication, consult your doctor before using this product.

Other ingredients: Cellulose, magnesium stearate (vegetable source) and silicon dioxide. The capsule consists of hydroxypropylmethylcellulose.
